Canada’s overall ranking in the residential swimming pool market transcends many measures by which countries are typically classified.
Canada is ranked 39th in population, 10th in manufacturing output, 20th in per capita income, and 24th in per capita GDP; however, Canada has climbed to the 8th largest global market for swimming pools.
The Windsor – Quebec corridor is the most densely populated region in Canada. While it covers just 2.3% of the country’s land area, it is home to nearly half of Canada’s population and most of its pools.
Canadian Pool Owner Statistics
Pkdata’s recent comprehensive Canadian pool owner survey yielded significant insights regarding utilization, purchasing habits, use of professional maintenance and cleaning services, and much more.
Some interesting data points from the survey indicate a high level of satisfaction with pool ownership (almost two-thirds of pool owners are satisfied with having a pool) and the likelihood of recommending pool ownership to others (nearly 60%).
The survey also indicated that many Canadian pool owners have renovated or remodeled their pools in the last five years or have plans to do so in the next few years.
In addition to our survey of Canadian pool owners, Pkdata is currently completing our comprehensive analysis and evaluation of all segments of the pool industry in Canada. The full report detailing the post-pandemic Canadian residential swimming pool market in 2021 and 2022 will be published in early 2023. Please reach out to us if you need any specific data on the Canadian market before the report’s release.
We’ll also be at the Canadian Pool & Spa Conference in Niagara Falls, ON in December – we’d love to talk with you about our data and your business. Hope to see you there!
